Navigate to
Rates
>Add Rate
.Select the type (FCL, LCL, Air, etc.).
Enter Origin & Destination details.
Input vendor, carrier, validity dates, transit time, and base rate.
Add charges (e.g., BAF, CAF, THC) with unit type and markup.
✅ Tip: Use dropdowns to quickly select ports, cities, and carriers from the database.
2. Excel Rate Upload (Bulk Import)
For teams managing hundreds of rates across multiple regions, use the Excel Upload tool:
Download the Freightek Excel template from
Rates > Upload
.Fill in the required columns (locations, container size, currency, etc.).
Upload the file and verify data mapping.
Review upload results and fix any error rows.
✅ Use Case: Uploading global FCL rates from co-loaders or shipping lines.
3. Charge Types and Grouping
Rates can include detailed breakdowns:
Freight Charges: Main leg
Local Charges (Origin/Destination): THC, Seal, BL, Doc fee
Surcharges: BAF, GRI, PSS, Emergency Cost
You can group charges using categories like:
Per Container
Per KG / CBM
Per Shipment
Flat Charge
4. Markup and Margin Management
You can define:
Client-specific markups
Global markup settings (e.g., +10% on Air Freight)
Dynamic markup by charge type or mode
✅ Example: +5% markup on Ocean Freight, +10% on Air Freight, flat $20 handling fee.
5. Rate Validity & Expiration Alerts
Each rate entry includes:
Start date
End date
Optional auto-expiration alert (email notification)
Expired rates are hidden from the quote module but kept for reference in history.
6. Rate Visibility Control
Admins can control which users or departments can view or use specific rate tables:
By Client (e.g., key accounts see special rates)
By Office/Branch
By User Role (Sales vs. Docs)
