1. Booking Entry (Pre-Document)

CS can manually create shipments from client booking requests:

  1. Navigate to Shipments > New Shipment.

  2. Input key booking data:

    • Client, POL/POD, cargo specs, ETD/ETA.

    • Booking reference, instructions from the client.

  3. Link a quote (if available) to auto-load charges.

✅ Alternatively, if a quote was accepted, CS can create a shipment by clicking “Convert to Shipment.”


2. Booking Adjustments

Sometimes bookings require changes. CS can:

  • Edit container type, weight, volume

  • Update ETD, vessel, flight, or truck

  • Add pickup/delivery instructions

✅ Use the internal comment section to notify Documentation or Trucking Team of updates.


3. Shipment Duplication

To save time on repeat shipments (e.g., weekly bookings):

  • Use Copy Shipment function.

  • Update new container numbers and dates.

  • Keep historical data while reducing manual entry.

✅ This is ideal for recurring clients or consol boxes.


4. Status Updates and Tracking

CS ensures accurate shipment status updates:

✅ Use Processing Status to coordinate internal workflow (e.g., Waiting for Docs, Awaiting Customs Clearance).


5. Client Communication

CS staff can:

  • Add client remarks to each shipment

  • Email pre-alerts, status updates, or documents

  • Update client portal to reflect real-time progress

✅ All client interactions are logged in the activity history.


6. Collaboration with Other Departments
